Many years ago you could not have convinced the Berry’s that life would ever be happily ever after again. Both were battle weary after two failed marriages.  Sweetie had finished college, graduate school, had babies and then life seemed to fall apart. Not one, but two marriages dissolved,  and in her mid thirties she set out on her own with the children.

Later, when she wasn’t looking at all, a fella from Oklahoma came like a Valentine’s day romance. In the package came two more children to love, older, yet still at home, his move to her state, the decision to create a home they dreamed would become A Joyful Place. The life they found together wasn’t the one they grew up dreaming of, but it is the one they have chosen to have.

This is a place that we share our story as a restored new family, a blended family marriage that started with four children, three dogs, cats, rabbits and a fish. It is not meant to be the manual on how to be family, it’s simply the sharing of what two people have chosen to go through to create a new family…and some of the ways we’ve chosen to make home a joyful place.
